Chief Executive Officer
As CEO at Airstream Ventures, Alan is responsible for the management of all business units while also leading the staff. He is a servant leader who always places relationships at the core of his business and life. With over 25 years as a sports executive, Alan has led and worked some of the nation's largest events including four NCAA Basketball Tournaments, Davis Cup Tennis, Navy vs. Notre Dame Football game, Gator Bowl, Spartan Races, Florida vs. Georgia Football Game, and US Men’s and Women’s National Team Soccer matches.
He has led organizations over the last 15 years, including working as the Senior Associate Athletic Director at Samford University, Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment for the City of Jacksonville, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Jacksonville Sports Council.
From 2005-2012, Verlander served as the Director of Athletics at Jacksonville University. During that time, JU saw it's most successful time in athletics. Under his leadership, a record 41 championships were achieved by the different sports teams, student-athletes maintained over a 3.0 grade point average and over $14 million was raised for athletic facility improvements.
Alan graduated with his B.A. in Speech Communications from Samford University in 1994, where he played and earned varsity letters in baseball. He earned a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership from Seton Hall University in 2007. He is married and has four daughters.
