Charleston is the capital city of West Virginia, and the elected leaders and citizens work every day to develop the city as the cultural, recreational and business capital of the Appalachian Mountain region. It is located at the confluence of the Elk and Kanawha rivers, and has a population of 47,273.

CHARLESTON COLISEUM & CONVENTION CENTER

Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center’s dramatic expansion and renovation nearly doubled its 300,000 square footage—offering more meeting flexibility! Renovations, upgrades and new additions to the convention center include spacious glass lobbies, a new 25,000-square-foot ballroom, 15,000 square feet of new meeting room spaces and more.

HADDAD RIVERFRONT PARK

Located on the banks of the Kanawha River, Haddad Riverfront Park is home to the city’s free concert series, Live on the Levee.

SHAWNEE SPORTS COMPLEX

The Shawnee Sports Complex consists of 6 turf rectangular fields, 11 grass rectangular fields (soccer, lacrosse, football and rugby), 4 baseball fields, renovated lodge, olympic- size pool, and outdoor basketball courts.

GO MART
ball park

Go Mart Ball Park is the current home field for the Charleston Dirty Birds, a baseball team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. It also has been used by the baseball programs of West Virginia University, Marshall University, and the University of Charleston.

UC Stadium at laidley field

UC Stadium at Laidley Field is the home field for the University of Charleston Golden Eagles football team. It has a seat capacity of 18,600 with a full size turf playing field and track.
