FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CLAY COUNTY, FL - Grab your fishing poles and kayaks because the sport of Kayak Bass Fishing is coming to Clay County, Florida in the fall of 2023 thanks to a partnership between the KBF brand, Clay County Tourism and Airstream Ventures.
Since its foundation in 2009 by Chad Hoover, Kayak Bass Fishing has set the pace for the kayak fishing industry and has brought thousands of anglers into the sport, hosting competitors from Mexico, Canada and nearly every American state along the way. Additionally, KBF organized the first-ever kayak bass fishing national championship at Kentucky Lake in 2016 and in 2019 co-hosted the first-ever kayak fishing tournament with a national boat series, the KBF-FLW Cup.
Clay County will host a season-long tournament where participants will not only participate in a culmination event but can win prizes and qualify for some of the top purses ever awarded. It will consist of a catch-photo-release contest where each competitor catches his or her own fish, takes a photo, and releases it. Dates of the event will run throughout 2023 culminating with the Pro Series event at the end of the year.
“We are so excited to partner with Clay County to combine one of our most prestigious kayak fishing tournament series championships with a world class fishery and destination,” said Chad Hoover, founder of KBF. “Our goal is the showcase Clay County as a true fishing destination to fisherman all over the US. Through all of our KBF mediums, we will work with Clay County and Airstream Ventures to create a major economic impact that is felt 12 months a year. We can’t wait to get started.”
In addition to the event and actual fishing by participants, KBF and Clay County will join in marketing efforts through video marketing on KBF’s social platforms and with bass fishing influencers talking about how Clay County is a fishing hotbed. There will also be specials created on KBF’s national television deals.
“We are looking forward to working with Kayak Bass Fishing to generate some positive attention and room nights for our destination,” said County Commissioner and Tourist Development Council Chairman Mike Cella. “KBF strives to creatively grow the sport by expanding the tournament purse, using various social platform contests, and the tournament itself. KBF’s out-of-the-box thinking was appealing and made for a good marketing opportunity for our emerging destination.”
As Clay County continues a robust marketing initiative through tourism, the top searched activity for the county continues to be fishing, which is a growing sport in the country, so a partnership with KBF was a natural fit.
